Valentine's Dinner and Beano
The Cranberry Isles Ladies Aid Society on February18, 2006 held a Valetine's dinner and Beano night to benefit the re-building of the Cranberry Isles Parish House. Under clear skies and 10 degree temperatures, the event held at the Community Center was attended by over 40 islanders and friends from off island. Keeping with the "all red theme" many were seen with various pieces of red attire. Mark Alley's famous lasagne was accompanied with desserts of strawberry shortcake and heart shape cakes. Cranberry General Store generously donated liquid refeshments.
Beano followed dinner including the drawing of special raffle prizes. The big raffle prize won by Gaile Colby was a 30 pound smoked ham donated by Skeldale Farm. Debbie Wedge and Gary Allen were the beano callers. Beano prizes were plentiful and a fanastic time was had by everyone along with the many babies and young children in attendance. A hearty thanks to all that helped to make this a wonderful night, while providing much needed funds to the Parish House re-constuction.
