Great Cranberry Island
Historical Society Annual Meeting

This year's Annual Meeting of the Great Cranberry Island Historical Society was the best yet. After the usual business of reports and election of officers, the audience was entertained by Ralph Stanley and Wilbur Wolff, both of Southwest Harbor, who rocked the Church with old-fashioned tunes that everyone knew.

Wilbur tickles the ivories Fast fiddlin' by Ralph, along with a lively accompaniment by Wilbur on the piano, was just the thing to keep the audience tapping their toes. Many sang along to the well-known verses of "Comin' 'Round the Mountain" and other favorites.

After the fiddlin', we all repaired to the Ladies Aid building for refreshments and to view the many exhibits of old photos and artifacts brought by all our neighbors, for a grown-up version of "show-and-tell." The proverbial "good time" was had by all, and the Historical Society benefitted by 25 new memberships.
