Hitty Rachel
Donated by 'Sue in Maine'

1 September 2006

Suanne Glidden (known as 'Sue in Maine' on the internet) gathered together a wonderful gift for the Great Cranberry Island Historical Society, and delivered it personally today, the first of September, 2006.  The donation is a Hitty doll that she has named Hitty Rachel, plus some accessories, all contained in a small display case.

Here's the announcement that Sue sent out to the Hitty community just before her visit:

Hitty Rachel is ready to travel on Friday to The Great Cranberry Island Historical Society Museum where she will live.  She has decorated her display case wall with Hitty looking fabric and will take along her favorite chair, plant, doll, books, paper dolls and nighty & robe set.  I'm excited about making this donation to the museum.  I hope the weather holds out and we have a nice day for the trip and boat ride.

Sue supplied Hitty Rachel, plus her dress, apartment, and accessories.  Ryan Jones of American Kit Company supplied her petticoat, and Julie DeGroat of HittyGirls.com supplied her hat.

The doll is a Robert Raikes Hitty from AmericanKit.com.

Sue later emailed out a narrative of her visit to a nationwide group of Hitty lovers.
