Welcome to Great Cranberry Island, Maine
With magnificent views of Acadia and Mount Desert from a distance, travel to our serene island just off the southern end of Maine's Mount Desert Island. Named for
the red berry common in this area, Great Cranberry Island is a peaceful community
with country lanes, lively fishing harbors and rock-strewn shores.
Great Cranberry has its own general store, post office, church, library, and historical society. A combination mail boat and ferry runs between the mainland town of Northeast Harbor and Great Cranberry Island six times a day in the summer.
Our splendid home is located just a quarter mile up the road from the town dock,
within walking distance of the General Store. A view from both front and back
porch allows visitors to witness the beauty of Manset Bay at sunrise or sunset.
We offer amenities which include:
First floor with living room (satellite TV), dining room, kitchen/eating area, pantry/mudroom
with a washer and dryer set-up, and a master suite with an attached bathroom with shower.
Second floor with a full bath and three bedrooms.
Bicycles and a golf cart are available at the house as modes of transportation around the island.
Overnight parking on the mainland near Northeast Harbor dock is optional for an additional cost.
For reservations, please contact the Cox family at 716-835-7451 for information and availability.
