Visitors to this area are attracted by the natural wonders of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. But the park is often quite crowded and busy.
On the Cranberry Isles you'll find a cool and calming break from the hectic activities on Mt. Desert. Hike or bike the islands in safety, and discover our interesting museums and quality gift shops - and the best views of the mountains of Acadia National Park.
Though Mt. Desert is technically an island, it's connected to the mainland by an inconspicuous bridge. But the Cranberry Isles are true islands. To get here you must have your own boat, or hire one, leaving your car on Mt. Desert.
